ALison Clarke - Folk Art Painter
TEXTURES MEMBER SINCE 2020
Alison Clarke has been a folk art painter since the mid 1990s when she tried her hand at a welcome sign - Enter With a Happy Heart. She was happily hooked and has since discovered the joy of painting on natural surfaces such as driftwood gathered from Lake Ontario, slate salvaged from an old church roof, or repurposed items which appreciate an artist’s touch.
Alison enjoys speaking to people who have purchased her work, hearing where her work was placed in a home or to whom it was given. She hopes that her work is cherished by families for years to come--particularly her Christmas pieces--and that they bring a smile each year when they are displayed.
Alison lives in Hamilton and is renovating a home with her partner. She loves the local theatres, arts, restaurants, library, and of course, the waterfalls.
