Lucy Hart – Knitter , Textile Artisan
TEXTURES MEMBER SINCE 2019
Lucy is a creative knitter, felter and knitwear designer. A life-time passion for nature and the out of doors provides the inspiration for her unique creations, as well as a love for natural fibres, particularly wool for its smell, softness, warmth and versatility.
While living in Newfoundland for a number of years, with its rugged landscape and unique culture, Lucy focused on perfecting her skill at felting, double ball knitting and adapting the various designs of traditional Labrador snowflake mitts, Arans and Fairisle knits into unique creations.
Lucy has more than 50 years of experience, completing her first crochet project at the age of four and her first pullover by the age of 12. Currently working from her home in Burlington, Lucy enjoys creating hand-knit and crocheted clothing and home accessories that are both functional and beautiful.
