Locke Street will be UNLOCKED and the street filled with live music, food, local artisan vendors, on-street entertainment, and exciting demos for three Sundays!
The Locke Street BIA will be opening up the street to pedestrians and the community with no vehicle traffic one Sunday per month from July to September. The roads will be pedestrian only and the event and activities run from 10 AM to 6 PM. Some of Textures Craftworks' talented artists and artisans will be at the shop doing demos of their work over the three Sundays Unlocked events. 2:00 – 5:00Naomi frohlich - sculptorNaomi, a ceramics sculptor for 20 years, will demonstrate ceramic hand building using raw clay.
The finished piece will require drying and two firings, one bisque firing to harden the clay and a glaze firing which will add color to the piece. Both firings take several hours and must be done in a special ceramic kiln offsite. The final product may be sold in the store at a later date. Learn more about Naomi... |

11:00 – 2:00Sarah Raymond - TEXTILE ARTISTSarah is an illustrator, designer and maker of learning materials for kids. Her artwork celebrates childhood play and discovery, and links to folk art and historic ornament.

2:00 – 5:00CHristine AikenChristine will have a number of her completed pieces, Stone of Time – People of the Great Lakes. She will have on display the raw, unchanged, hand collected (over 25 years from Lake Erie) fossilized coral and flint stones, along with some bases, and bones.

11:00 – 2:00SUE GUNTER - jEWELLER / ARTISTSue works in acrylic, watercolour, and mixed media while her jewellery is created from polymer clay, wire, gems, crystals, beach glass, vintage and other interesting components.
Sue will show simple wire wrapping techniques, wrapping beach glass or a gemstone crystal, providing ideas to wrap large and small beads into a pendant or as a component for an earring or bracelet. Learn more about Sue... |
2:00 – 5:00LAUCH HARRISON - LEATHERSMITHLauch will use a stitching horse and a diamond awl to pierce holes in the leather allowing the needles to pass through. There are needles at both ends of the linen thread.
